Guardians Of The Galaxy
Quill contacts Yondu before following Gamora into space, giving her his helmet to survive; Yondu arrives and retrieves the pair. Rocket, Drax, and Groot threaten to attack Yondu's ship to rescue them, but Quill negotiates a truce, promising the Orb to Yondu. Quill's group agrees that facing Ronan means certain death, but that they cannot let him use the Infinity Stone to destroy the galaxy. On Ronan's flagship, the Dark Aster, Ronan embeds the Stone in his warhammer, taking its power for himself. He contacts Thanos, threatening to kill him after first destroying Xandar. Hateful of her adoptive father, Nebula allies with Ronan.

A few weeks of additional filming, involving the film's main cast and crew, occurred in March 2014 at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.[146][147][148] In April 2014, Gunn described Thanos as the "head of the snake" in the film, and confirmed he would appear via performance capture.[11] In May 2014, Gunn stated that the film features an "enormous" amount of smaller and minor characters from the Marvel Universe, adding that he felt the film had the most characters overall of any Marvel Studios film to date.[149] Costume supervisor Dan Grace added to this by saying, "We really, really get the feeling of the scale and scope of the galaxy. We visit five planets, we see a hundred different races." The film introduces the alien race Sakaaran, who act as Ronan's mercenaries, as a replacement to the Badoon, as the Badoon film rights belonged to 20th Century Fox.[46]
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY follows American pilot Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), who was abducted from Earth as a child in 1988 after his mother died. Fast forward 26 years into the future: In a galaxy far, far away, Peter is a rogue outlaw who steals a powerful orb he plans to sell. After getting arrested, Quill reluctantly teams up with a group of criminals he's briefly imprisoned with -- Rocket, a genetically modified raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper); Gamora (Zoe Saldana), the adopted daughter of the most dangerous being in the universe; tree-like Groot (Vin Diesel); and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), who's on a personal mission to avenge his family. The fate of the universe lies in the hands of these misfit not-quite-friends when it's clear that the villainous Ronan (Lee Pace) plans to use the orb to destroy an entire planet.
If you think it's all going to plan, you're in for a world of surprises, with the consequences of your actions guaranteed to keep the Guardians on their toes. In this original Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy story, you'll cross paths with powerful new beings and unique takes on iconic characters, all caught in a struggle for the galaxy's fate. It's time to show the universe what you're made of.
Far off, in the depths of the Andromeda Galaxy, the expansionist Kree Empire has reluctantly made peace with the Nova Empire. But one of the most vicious and powerful Kree warlords, Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), still has vengeance on his mind. He goes behind his government's back and strikes a pact with one of the most dreaded beings in the galaxy, Thanos the Mad Titan (Josh Brolin). In exchange for a certain ancient relic, the Mad Titan will grant Ronan's one wish: genocide on Xandar, the capital of the Nova Empire.
Since Korvac's gone, Iron Man wanted the Guardians to tell them everything what other threats they encountered and known in the galaxy but Star-Lord prefers not to tell them, saying: "There are things out there in the universe you're better off not knowing about".
Set 12 years after the Chitauri tore apart the universe in the Galactic War, Star-Lord and his charismatic crew members are taking on odd jobs to pay the bills. One takes them into the Quarantine Zone, which is governed by the Nova Corps and comes with a fine upon capture. Of course, that's exactly what happens to those aboard the Milano. The team scrounges up just enough Galactic Units to clear their debt when upon their return to Nova Corps HQ, they discover yet another threat to the galaxy.
The plot, characters, and decision making all feed into a surprisingly meaty 20+ hour campaign that explores the galaxy and then some. Combat makes up much of the experience, but there's time for environmental puzzles and exploration too. Broken up into 16 chapters, you can veer off the main path for collectibles and outfits inspired by comic books of the past, or take the time to tour some of the bigger areas. Think of Carson V from Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and you're along the right tracks. Don't get us wrong, the game is a largely linear undertaking, but there's certainly room for some fun on the side.
In combination with Star-Lord's standard blasters, the wide array of abilities helps to greatly flesh out combat with various approaches to dealing with the galaxy's toughest bad guys. You can focus on the stagger meter, hang back and let Rocket play with his toys, or allow Gamora to go to town.
Been playing it since Saturday when my copy arrived early. So far it's been a really great experience and I think they got the tone of the movies spot on. Lots of banter between the guardians and I've laughed quite a few times. Looks impressive too. Combat for me is good but not great, starlords weapon feels like a pea shooter at times but I suppose that's why you've got to use the rest of the team. And I personally don't like the huddles because it brings the action to a stop. But the following music is great! Overall though it's just been a fun game so far. Definitely between an 8 to 9. 041b061a72
