Rockwool insulation is a stone wool insulation made from volcanic rock (basalt). It is used for soundproofing and fire protection. It is often referred to as mineral wool insulation. The manufacturing process involves the melting of basalt and slag, which are then spun into fibers. Batts are then made from those fibers to slide between joists or studs.
Our Rockwool range provides a wide variety of insulation products, which are a brilliant solution for your exterior wall systems including rain screen, curtain wall, wood frame, cavity wall, exterior continuous insulation, and metal frame constructions.
Insulation rockwool is an efficient way to keep your home warm and comfortable. Insulating your home is a great way to reduce your energy bills. Batt insulation is a great way to reduce heat loss. It is a material that is made from rock and wool. We also offer fiberglass insulation as an alternative. It is also made with zero waste which is a pro if you share their commitment to the enviroment. The data sheet provides information on the properties of the insulation. It is fire resistant. We have a range of unfaced stone products. We recommend this for an old house.

Rockwool insulation vs fiberglass is a common question among our users. Although they are both excellent insulators there are a few differences which explains why mineral wool is becoming more prominent nowadays.
The Buy Clean California Act (BCCA) (Public Contract Code Sections 3500-3505), states the Department of General Services (DGS), in consultation with the California Air Resources Board (CARB), is required to establish and publish the maximum acceptable Global Warming Potential (GWP) limit for four eligible materials. The BCCA targets carbon emissions associated with the production of structural steel (hot-rolled sections, hollow structural sections, and plate), concrete reinforcing steel, flat glass, and mineral wool board insulation. When used in public works projects, these eligible materials must have a GWP that does not exceed the limit set by DGS.
Structural steel, concrete reinforcing steel, flat glass, and mineral wool board insulation. Table 2 below describes the types of eligible materials that can apply to the established GWP limits. Awarding authorities should be contacted for specific BCCA material requirements.
The PCRs listed below should be used to develop EPDs for a wide variety of products within the eligible material category (i.e., structural steel, concrete reinforcing steel, flat glass, and mineral wool board insulation). Please refer to FAQ Section 2.0 (Table 2) above to understand exactly which products need to comply with the initial rollout of the BCCA.
Our top-selling Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is a good place to start your search for insulating mineral wool roll. It is flexible, making it the ideal choice for insulating uneven walls or tight loft spaces. It is also rot proof, which prevents mice or rats from making their homes in it.
Mineral wool is a non-metallic inorganic material manufactured from a carefully controlled mix of raw materials like stone and glass. Mineral wool is also known as mineral fiber, mineral cotton, mineral fibre, man-made mineral fibre (MMMF), and man-made vitreous fiber (MMVF).
Mineral wool is one of the most common insulating material manufactured and is used in buildings across the world. Mineral wool is extremely lightweight and flexible and holds in place between timber, metal frames and rafters without the need for additional fixings.
Mineral wool insulation is an ideal fireproof material as it is non-combustible. Mineral wool will not burn until temperatures reach beyond 1,800F (1,000C). The insulation actually performs as a fire barrier, slowing down house fires and giving the fire services more time to get things under control.
Though the individual fibers conduct heat very well when pressed into rolls and sheets, their ability to partition air makes them excellent insulators and sound absorbers. The fire resistance of fiberglass, stone wool, and ceramic fibers makes them common building materials when passive fire protection is required, being used as spray fireproofing, in stud cavities in drywall assemblies and as packing materials in firestops.
4" Thick Rigid Mineral Wool Insulation Boards are used as both acoustical and thermal insulation panels. The 4" thickness provides both excellent sound absorption (NRC 1.10) and thermal insulation (R Value: 16.8) which makes this a very popular product in both the acoustical field as well as the industrial insulation industry. This product is sold in boxes of 3 panels which are 4" thick and have panel dimensions of 24" x 48".ACOUSTICAL APPLICATION:As the Acoustical Performance Chart listed below shows, the 4" Mineral Wool Insulation Boards are superior in sound absorption across the frequency spectrum. 4" Mineral Wool Panels absorb low, mid, and high frequencies which allows these panels to be made into bass traps (low frequencies) as well as Multi-Band Absorbers (all frequencies). 4" Mineral Wool Insulation Boards are the preferred core material for Bass Traps. The mineral wool insulation is installed inside a frame and wrapped with acoustical fabric and placed in the back corners or back wall of a home theater, sound studio, media room, etc.
Seedlings are propagated in mineral wool plugs and after that grew in cubes or slabs. Plugs must be put in particular propagation trays for plant propagation. Because of its structural identity, mineral wool plugs allow equal supply of water, nutrients and pH level. These features enable perfect germination of seeds and steady development of seedling in the future cultivation. Sizes - 20 x 27 mm 20 x 22 mm
