“Smokey”

1 min read

“My place

Gifts from men galore

A Smokey apartment

A man with a cat

Friends

Vodka

Cigarettes and beer

Laundry in the basement

Don’t you wish you lived here?

Walks to the store

Snowy streets

Bus rides to the mall

High heeled boots

I got my dress on.

We got shops

Diners

A train to downtown.

I’m on my own.

I’m on my own.

Don’t you wish you were with me now?

Smokey nights

Hazy streets

Panhandlers

Cars with music on.

A little gazebo

City nights

Missing you day and night

Wishing you were here.

My man

The jazz in my heart.

Hazy nights

Lovely girl

I try to be

Remembering you

Remembering how we used to be.

I play my guitar

And I remember

Your kind voice

A smile in your eyes

Love in my heart.”
